The Yale Russian Chorus is a tenor-bass choral ensemble consisting of undergraduate students at Yale University established in 1953 by Denis Mickiewicz. The chorus sings both sacred and secular pieces from Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Throughout its history, the chorus has toured across the globe, and was the first American group to visit the USSR as a private initiative in 1958. The chorus has had the privilege of performing for leaders like Charles de Gaulle, Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin and Bill Clinton. Now in its 72nd season, the Yale Russian Chorus continues Mickiewicz’s project of cultural diplomacy, peace, and understanding.
