Yale Blue Green invites you on a journey to Tanzania’s Rift Valley in this powerful 30-minute film by Hans Cosmas Ngoteya, focusing on endangered giraffes and the fragile ecosystems they share with the Maasai. A story of conservation, resilience, and coexistence.
Doors open at 5pm, opening remarks and screening begin at 5:30pm.
Following the screening there will be light refreshments and discussion with Dr. Laly Lichtenfeld (MFS ‘99, PhD ‘05), co-founder and CEO of African People & Wildlife. Dr. Lichtenfeld’s years at Yale sparked the passion and vision that led her to co-found African People & Wildlife, now internationally acclaimed for its groundbreaking, locally led approach to conservation in Tanzania. From reducing human-wildlife conflict to protecting endangered species and empowering rural communities, her work has reshaped how conservation is done in Africa.
